Level 2 Diploma in Skills for Business
Course Overview
This course provides a practical foundation for learners who want to develop business knowledge, prepare for employment or progress to further study. Learners build understanding of business responsibilities and structures, operations and goals, business finance, career pathways, marketing and advertising, workplace communication, employee rights and responsibilities, teamwork, personal finance and contact-centre skills.
Entry Criteria
- Applicants must be aged 16 or over.
- Appropriate language, literacy and numeracy skills at Level 1 or above are required.
- Learners may work towards maths and English at Level 2 alongside this qualification where appropriate.
- If English is not the applicant’s first language, a minimum B2 (CEFR) level or equivalent is required.
- There are no further formal entry requirements.

Assessment Methods
Assessment is centre-assessed and portfolio-based. Learners build a portfolio showing how they have met the learning outcomes and qualification requirements.

Delivery & Grading
- Learning may be delivered through classroom teaching, e-learning or a blended approach.
- The qualification is assessed on a Pass/Fail basis and all learning outcomes and assessment requirements must be met.
Progression Opportunities
Successful learners can progress to higher-level business qualifications, including Level 3 study in business administration, business enterprise, leadership and management, human resources, business finance or related areas.
