Level 3 Diploma in Business Innovation and Entrepreneurial Skills
Course Overview
This course builds business innovation and entrepreneurial capability for learners planning to start a business, develop an existing venture, progress to employment or continue to higher-level study. Topics include business planning and legal considerations, financial records and forecasting, marketing and digital presence, decision-making, human resource management, business improvement and contingency planning.
Entry Criteria
- Applicants must be aged 16 or over.
- English and maths should normally be at GCSE Grade A*-C / Grade 4 or above, or equivalent.
- If English is not the applicant’s first language, a minimum B2 (CEFR) level or equivalent is required.
- Suitable digital literacy skills are required, although a specific prior digital qualification is not required.
- There are no further formal entry requirements.

Assessment Methods
Learners are assessed on evidence contained within a portfolio. The portfolio must demonstrate achievement of the learning outcomes and qualification requirements.

Delivery & Grading
- Learning may be delivered through classroom teaching, e-learning or a blended approach.
- The qualification is assessed on a Pass/Fail basis and all learning outcomes and assessment requirements must be met.
Progression Opportunities
Successful learners may progress to Level 4 or higher qualifications in business administration, enterprise, leadership and management, human resources, business finance or related areas, and may also progress to degree-level study where entry requirements are met.
